Froid des Mascareignes

Established in 1997, Froid des Mascareignes (FDM) is a modern cold room complex situated in Port-Louis harbour within the limits of the Freeport Zone No 8.

The company specialises in frozen fish handling and export logistics and has its own private quays, providing safe mooring for large trawlers, reefer carriers, purse seiners and longliners up to 125m long and with drafts of up to 8.5 metres.

FDM provides a ‘One Stop’ fish discharge and export logistics trawlers facility and is the ideal base port for commercial fishing operations.

The modern cold rooms (11500 tons capacity) and spacious container storage area enable an experienced team to perform the most challenging tasks efficiently, whilst satisfying EU directives and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) requirements.

Unloading equipment, including forklifts and mobile cranes, is available for handling fish in bulk or packaged form. Specialised equipment for sashimi handling is also available. In conjunction with our ‘in-house’ Freeport operator, Transfroid Ltd, FDM can undertake all the stages of product handling and export logistics.
