Thon des Mascareignes benefits from its proximity to the main fishing grounds of the Western Indian Ocean and from duty-free exports to Europe as Mauritius is part of the ACP-EU countries.

Whilst most of the production is exported to Spain, France, Italy & the United States, smaller niche markets are also being developed in other parts of the world.

The company operates a state-of-the-art 250 tons/day processing plant, in order to ensure both the quality and traceability of the final product.

Up to about 135 tons of loins can be produced per day.

The processing plant which operates 24 hrs/day on a 5 day-week basis,employs about 1,600 persons.

Thon des Mascareignes works in close collaboration with its sister companies within the Seafood Hub Ltd and with other IBL Group Marine, Logistics & Aviation Business Unit departments operating in the shipping and logistics sectors.
