Supermarket Manager

Winners, the leading supermarket chain in Mauritius, is looking for Leaders to consolidate its operational team within its various supermarkets. The incumbents will be responsible for efficient management of the overall operations by achieving sales, profitability and growth as well as objectives set for the outlet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operational requirements of the outlet.
  • Maintain outstanding outlet conditions in terms of merchandising, promotions, displays, pricing, stock management, hygiene and cleanliness, amongst others.
  • Enforce the commercial strategy defined by Management and carry out daily follow-up of sales by category and product line.
  • Monitor competition, new markets and concepts.
  • Work on customer satisfaction regarding product availability, choice and quality.
  • Motivate, engage and lead the team by example and ensure discipline.
  • Continuously upskill service excellence through ongoing training, coaching and mentoring.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to best practices and standard of operating procedures related to food safety.
  • Manage the overall shrinkage of the outlet.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate autonomy by taking ownership of all activities of the outlet

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Business, Management OR any other equivalent qualification
  • 5 years of experience at supervisory level in the Retail, Manufacturing sector or any similar environment
  • Conversant with MS Office package
  • Good understanding of the local FMCG sector or Retail business can be an advantage

  • Detail and results-oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Available to work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, as well as odd hours
  • Holder of a valid driving licence
