Safety & Health Officer

The IBL Commercial Engineering Cluster, operating within four diversified business units, is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join the team as Safety & Health Officer. The incumbent will coordinate the safety & health activities and provide service to the different Business Units within the cluster.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Safety & Health Manager in planning and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Inspect the workplace for potential hazards, assess the risks and report accordingly.
  • Maintain accident records and risk assessment reports.
  • Review regularly any measure or method used to ensure that occupational safety and health requirements are met.
  • Ensure that all employees are provided with proper PPEs.
  • Ensure Risk Assessment is carried out regularly.
  • Ensure that the business units are compliant with all operating permits as per the OSHA 2005.
  • Perform regular site visits and report accordingly.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider HR team as and when required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Management
  • At least 3 years of practical experience in the Health and Safety field preferably within an engineering environment.
  • Fluent in MS applications.

OTHER PREREQUISITES

  • Good planning and coordinating skills.
  • Holder of a valid driving license.
  • Self-starter and ability to be multi tasked.
  • Must be available to work odd hours and meet tight deadlines.
  • A team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
