Safety & Health Officer

The IBL Commercial Engineering Cluster, operating within four diversified business units, is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join the team as Safety & Health Officer. The incumbent will coordinate the safety & health activities and provide service to the different Business Units within the cluster.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Safety & Health Manager in planning and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Inspect the workplace for potential hazards, assess the risks and report accordingly.
Maintain accident records and risk assessment reports.
Review regularly any measure or method used to ensure that occupational safety and health requirements are met.
Ensure that all employees are provided with proper PPEs.
Ensure Risk Assessment is carried out regularly.
Ensure that the business units are compliant with all operating permits as per the OSHA 2005.
Perform regular site visits and report accordingly.
Provide administrative support to the wider HR team as and when required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Management
At least 3 years of practical experience in the Health and Safety field preferably within an engineering environment.
Fluent in MS applications.

OTHER PREREQUISITES

Good planning and coordinating skills.
Holder of a valid driving license.
Self-starter and ability to be multi tasked.
Must be available to work odd hours and meet tight deadlines.
A team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
